Pound signs in cells where there were numbers after saving an Excel file. First, I do not think this is a formatting problem or that the column width isn't wide enough. I created a several spreadsheets in a workbook, which worked fine. I saved it. Months later I opened the file. The numbers in the cells had been replaced with pound signs (###).

Now I have checked and I am using the UK English keyboard, been through all the settings and definitely using UK keyboard so I am stumped and any help would be appreciated. I can cope with the" and the @ switch but it is very awkward not being able to get the pound sign. Using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Regards. Andrew

Right click your Start Button, choose Powershell (admin) Paste this command into Powershell and hit Enter: $1 = New-WinUserLanguageList en-GB. Paste this command into Powershell and hit Enter: Set-WinUserLanguageList $1. Close Powershell and restart your PC.
